Very good question. We just launched the website/community ( the second week of May) and we are closely monitoring the development. So far people who work closely with producer organizations such as funders, importers, NGOs have been the first to integrate. I think this is probably because they are using communication and the Internet on a more regular basis. I believe that producer organizations will be a bit slower in joining because they use Internet with less frequency and it will take time to get their confidence to join an online community and share their experience.
Therefore, we want to create meaningful conversations that involve the opinion of producer organizations. The region of Africa needs more dissemination of experience in organizational development. For this you have more experience. How can we motivate the introduction of successful experiences in Africa?
Thanks in advance and hope to hear from you soon!
Hi Hilde. I read your comment on the wall of Ignacio. This community is designed for producer organisations and there supporters (NGOs, financers, etc. ). The idea is to have an exchange and facilitate learning between chain partners that in the end will benefit the producer organisations. Maybe we should adapt the formulation of the objective accordingly. Furthermore you are right concerning the unequal representation at this moment. It is a lot better at the Spanish community (see link on home page to spanish version). It means we really have to make an effort to invite and involve producer organisations in Africa and Asia. Any ideas how to do this? Regards, Edith Kroese
